Regulatory Standard NR-12 (Safety at Work in Machinery and Equipment) defines technical references, fundamental principles and protective measures to guarantee the health and physical integrity of workers, and establishes minimum requirements for the prevention of accidents and illnesses at work. operation of machinery and equipment.
NR 12 had its wording substantially altered by Portaria SIT nº 197/2010 and has been in force since December 24, 2010. The last update of this standard was issued by Portaria MTPS nº 211/2015 on December 10, 2015. It is a highly complex standard with a high degree of technical detail, requiring specialized personnel to interpret and implement it.
